The Day has finally come.. A day I wished many times to happen.. and now a day I want to push back as long as I can... My daughter has turned 18. My hopes and dreams for her have exceeded my expecatations... She is driven.. She is strong and she knows what she wants.. my biggest wish for her now... is that her dreams .. don't stay dreams... but become reality....
Yes.. your eyes are NOT deceiving you.. this is a picture of ME.. 17 years ago...I was just 19 myself... with my daughter who just turned 1.. and barely walking...
In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about
It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

What a great song. Never heard it.
I too was 19 when I had my daughter.
She is beautiful. Happy 18!!
What a bittersweet time - you so want her to grow, but then the time comes, and you don't want to let go. Trust that God has great plans for her. You've done an amazing job raising her...now let her fly so God may prune and nourish her further.
Blessings,
Hope
A few years ago I was congratulated on the first successful clone, but after looking at a picture of you and your daughter I am no longer able to accept that. That congrats now belongs to you. I know you've probably heard this a bazillion, trillion times, but she looks just like you! LOL
So...now that we've seen a "then" picture, when do we get to see the "now" picture. :P
