Each person should judge his own actions and not compare himself with others. Then he can be proud for what he himself has done. Galatians 6:4

Yup.. guess who had a Birthday .. Little ole me!! I did.. I did.. I turned 35 Yesterday! Saturday I had a really nice party with a bunch of friends... I got so many thoughtful and amazing gifts.. and at the end of the night we played Music trivia of the 80's!! Welllllllllllllll.. give you two guesses who WON that one!!! There are some serious.. serious one hit wonders in the 80's though.. some singers I NEVER heard of.. and honestly.. I'm glad I never did.. HA HA HA.. So if you're looking for a partner on a music game.. I'm there... So this post might seem like my last post.. because........ with everything good... that came.. I lost something too.......... sighhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Believe it or not.. yesterday... being my true birthday.. it rained.. no biggie.. cause I had the great party the day before.. so I relaxed in the afternoon between phone calls and people stopping in.. ( I LOVE my friends)... and then we had a couple stay for dinner... as my friend was microwaving butter for corn... it made a funny noise and then SIZZLED!! YUP it decided to die out.. sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Ok.. Ok.. it's been good to us for 10 years.. I can't complain.. right?? Well.. finally I fall asleep last night.. and around 3am this morning I hear a HUGE crash... I jump out of bed... as does hubby.. we checked the kids rooms.. NOTHING.. We run downstairs ONLY to realize that our ceiling to our hallway cracked and smashed to the floor........ WHAT??????????????? sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I'm not sure if we should call our homeowners insurance or just replace it ourselves.. any opinions on that?? Would I take a chance of being dropped?? My home is pretty old.. 1912 and this IS the original ceiling... they are aware of all that.. hmmmm give me some idea ladies!! LOL LOL

*** Side note.. Chris.. I can't find the link to your blog.. :( When you post it doesn't show up anymore... so if you could send that to me ..pretty please I would ever be so grateful.. I won't post it here.. but I'd like to put it in my computers personal favorite.. e-mail if you would like.. wtkasmith@verizon.net!! Thanks!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I'm glad you had such a great time!

Sorry about the link. I keep forgetting that it's under a new email address and I end up signing in after I've checked my email and it automatically signs me in under the old one. I have to either get into the habit of checking my blogs before I ck my email OR make sure I remember to sign in under the new one when I go to comment. Anyhow, THIS ONE will lead you to my blog. I SURE of it! :P

As far as the home owner's insure thing goes, I would probably consider what would be the cheaper route. How much would home owner's cover and would they raise your rate for this? Or would it be cheaper in the long run just to replace it yourself.

Happy Belated (but I didn't know) Birthday!!!!!!

Happy you got to have a ~FaBuLoUs~ party w/ your friends.

Sorry to hear of the death of your microwave! How are you surviving without it?!! I'd die. (oh wait, I'm talking about YOU....the girl who cans and stuff...You don't NEED a microwave, that's just ME who couldn't survive without it!!!!)

So, sorry to hear about the ceiling, as well. Now, that really sucks!!!!

We had a flood (broken water pipe behind the washer) in our house 3 years ago. Claimed it on homeowners. Worried just like you are. Turned out to be no biggie.

THEN....this Spring, in our new (to us) house in KS, we had a flood in 1/2 of our basement (see my previous blog about it....if you forgot--like April/May) Anyway, had to claim because we had NEW carpet in the basement.....anyway, we claimed, but now until I asked a bunch of questions of the State Farm guy. And he gave me an explanation that if you move, than you get a clean slate w/ company. So....if you've never claimed before, you shouldn't have to worry about anything. Just document everything. Take pics and video (if you can) of the roof, inside and out. Damage to the house. Ruined stuff. Ruined floor. Ruined carpet....whatever. Then have them send an adjuster ASAP. Then, ask them what you should do.

BUT TAKE PICS BEFORE YOU CLEAN UP ANYTHING!!!!!!

email me if you have more questions about our experiences.....

Yikes! When it rains it pours, as they say. I can't believe your ceiling fell down!

Anyway, I've stopped in at your blog a few times I think, and thought I'd de-lurk.

Happy belated birthday!

Oh Happy Belated Birthday! Sounds like a great party except for the micro wave. And then of course the ceiling. You must have been doing some heavy duty dancing during your party! ;v)
